I have not read the book. Not sure I will buy it. I am a great Clips customer. I am 85 and dependent on rides so it has been a God-Sent to go in and have my hair cut without an appointment and very often without hardly any waiting. Last time I had to wait about ten minutes so I watched a father with a darling two year old who "stood" with his dad as he paid his bill. What I noticed was that the little one was smaller than the ad of a young man with a "SEXY HAIRCUT" which reminded me of several rapes on college campuses that were reported on the morning news. I looked up at the dad to see if he had a "SEXY HAIRCUT". They left and I noticed the shelves of SEXY hair products. I have been heart sick for the last week wondering how much evil corporations do by using sex to promote sales. I am even wondering if I can go back. Supporting SEXY this way would be contributing to the devaluing of sex in our culture which I am sure contributes to the 32,000 suicides in this country last year. 700 in Minnesota. And homicides?
Great story about a great company. Very interesting read about how a great brand became what it is today.
First,a confession, I am a Great Clips Franchisee and have heard a lot of these stories already. Having them interwoven and in a timeline brings them to reality. I can personally attest to the warmth, caring and absolute honesty this company conducts themself in. I am better off having them in my life. #blessed
My husband loves to read corporate biographies, so this was one of many books I gave him for Christmas. He just couldn't finish reading it because it was poorly written. I think more and more companies are paying to have their biographies printed because they think it's interesting. However, not all company growths are interesting enough and should be left to the radio & TV talk show circuit.
